A group of our young people took on the jobs of RSC staff, running their latest exhibition, ‘The Play’s The Thing’ for the day.
Our young people were taking part in Kids in Museums’ Takeover Day, a national initiative that’s focused on getting young people involved in all aspects of museums. Our young people have been working with The Royal Shakespeare Company to take on the roles of Exhibition Host, Collections Presenter and Evaluation Collecter for their latest exhibition, The Play’s The Thing.
Over the course of the morning, our team of young people introduced visitors to the exhibition, assisted with exhibits and even delivered information to the public about the items on display.
The team had attended several training sessions in anticipation of the day, being taught crucial skills such as how to handle exhibits (Some of which have been worn by the likes of David Tennant and Dame Judi Dench!) and interacting with the public. On the day, they were supported by RSC staff, but took the lead and gave visitors an experience they will never forget!
