Programme Lead (Youth Voice and Participation)

To take lead responsibility for our collaborative Youth Voice programmes designed to ensure that young people are at the centre of decision making, influencing regional policy makers, including but not limited to the West Midlands Combined Authority and the West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership.

Salary Range: £27,489-£32,752

Location: West Midlands wide role - Coventry based

Contract Duration: Fixed Term until March 2024 (Initial contract)

Hours per week: 30-40 (negotiable)

Job Purpose:

To take lead responsibility for our collaborative Youth Voice programmes designed to ensure that young people are at the centre of decision making, influencing regional policy makers, including but not limited to the West Midlands Combined Authority and the West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership.

You will co-design and deliver attractive programmes alongside young people seeking opportunities and pathways for sustained engagement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting young people as collaborators and managing logistics in order to deliver projects to the highest possible standards.
  • Responsibility for working closely with young people and policy partners to develop youth focussed projects and policy-related recommendation reports designed to improved outcomes for young people across the region.    
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key policy makers, commissioners and other organisations to build solid working practices based upon mutual trust and respect.
  • To deliver regular sessions of contact offering a range of programmes ensuring that they run safely, in particular with identified target groups of young people.  
  • To motivate and enable young people to actively engage in provision, seeking positive outcomes in relation to their progression.  
  • To ensure rigorous monitoring and evaluation of the programme takes place regularly and thoroughly. Ensuring that outcomes are recorded to enable impact to be measured.  
  • To manage budgets relating to the allocated resources of the programme.  
  • To ensure high levels of health and safety and safeguarding at sessions.  
  • To possess the relevant commitment and skills to involve young people in decisions that directly affect them.  
  • To understand the types of risks associated to young people who find themselves in a range of challenging circumstances and be able to deal with emergencies quickly and efficiently.  

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Actively respond and adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures regarding young people and the wider staff team.
  • To use knowledge of local partnerships to support and enhance the programme range and reach.
  • To lead the communications work for the programme.
  • To report back on monitoring and evaluation processes to the PYF Programme Manager.
  • Actively recruit eligible and suitable young people to the programme.
  • Collect and store the required evidence of eligibility as per the programme requirements.
  • To coordinate delivery partners, ensuring the right information and evidence is being collected.  
  • To implement projects alongside PYF’s wider service priorities (Education, Health and Well-Being and Community Engagement)
