Our Raising Aspirations Programme (RAP) supports young people to achieve their potential. This is delivered through an intensive timetable of provision which includes supporting those experiencing challenges within mainstream education, or those out of education, training or employment.

RAP is a highly targeted, bespoke programme of personal development support. We work closely with Coventry City Council’s Work Related Learning team, individual schools and education providers.

Youth work principles are adopted to meet the diverse needs of young people, ensuring that they are supported and challenged in equal measure. Experienced staff enable young people to work through recognised personal development accreditations and functional skills assessments in a safe, broadly inclusive environment.

Successes of the alternative education provision, include young people reintegrating into mainstream provision, reaching positive destinations through improved self-awareness and a development of confidence and resilience when working through their often complex issues. Young people have also reduced offending rates and substance misuse, developed independent living skills and become positive role models and mentors for their peers

Raising Aspirations Programme also supports young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET)  or who are at-risk of falling into a cycle of unemployment or lack of further education.

During the 2017 year, we received funding to deliver two large scale employability programmes; Building Better Opportunities - Progress, and Routes to Ambition.

Our first programme is targeted at young people aged 16-19 and young adults (up to 25 year olds for those who have left care). Through a flexible and tailored programme of intense support over 6-12 months, beneficiaries profit from a balance of personal development and employability skills. Modules are carefully unpicked through a series of intensive one-to-one sessions with a dedicated Mentor.  Employability modules include up-skilling beneficiaries’ transferable skills, practical proficiency in job search, application/CV creation and becoming interview ready.

Our second programme works with young people between the ages 15-24 who are facing challenges which result in them being at risk of exclusion from education settings.
The work delivered focuses on increasing motivation and personal development through enrichment and mentoring activities
